Tie Guan Yin (Iron Buddha) grown in Anxi Fujian, China. An Oolong green tea semi-fermented (oxidized) tea famed for floral scents and medium bodied with haunting long slightly tannic finish. Oolong teas have become quite popular but abused in the harvesting and curing of the teas in China as some chemicals pesticides were used in farming. However, we vet our farmers directly and insure 100% green harvesting. This Iron Buddha is green in color and not roasted further by heat and retain a greener fresher taste. In Taiwan, where Oolong reigns supreme, Tie Guan Yin is actually roasted (Hong Pei) further to create a deeper more robust flavor as it is a more oxidized tea and costs more. As Fujian is the motherland of Oolong, we chose Tie Guan Yin (Iron Buddha) from China instead of Taiwan.
- Brew at ~100 degrees and steep for 3-4 minutes.
